Scholarship Interview

Goal: Create a high-quality interview video that would impress a competitive scholarship committee.

Requirements :

  • The recording is a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes.
  • Select someone to interview you who will speak clearly, fluently, and at an appropriate volume. The interviewer does not need to show up in the video.
  • Your attire should be professional.
  • Your partner cannot modify or change the questions. (They must be read as stated below.)
  • Pick a professional location to record that will provide sufficient lighting and remain quiet for the duration of the interview.
  • Record your interview on your personal time.
  • Acceptable video formats –
    • o   .AVI
    • o   .MP4
    • o   .MOV
  • Post your video on Youtube as an unlisted video and post the link to your Scholarship Interview in the comment section below with your full name and class period. {Your video will only be visible to your instructors.}

Grading will be based on:

  • Fluidity
  • Professional speech
  • Eye contact
  • Professional attire
  • Give examples of your strongest attributes and provide examples of these strengths for your audience, the scholarship committee (anecdotes, examples, etc.)
  • The overall quality of the video

Interview Questions: (Each student must answer all of these questions in his/her interview.)

  1. What three adjectives would your best friend use to describe you?
  2. How have you grown, or changed?
  3. What achievements are you most proud of?
  4. How do you respond to academic pressure or competition?
  5. How do you define success?
  6. What do you want to accomplish in the years ahead?

This task is worth (25) overtime points in the major category and will not be accepted late. Please check the “Overtime!!!” main page for all deadlines.
